About This Listing

Burns Bison Bass.

This bass is in excellent condition and comes with the Burns Bison hard case.

From England to the world. Jim Burns created the Burns company in the 60's as a true alternative to American instruments. Instead of just making lesser copies of famous US guitars, Burns had his own ideas about how a guitar should look, perform and sound.

The highly acclaimed band The Shadows used Burns instruments exclusively for years, helping spread the name of these instruments.

The Burns guitar company has gone through all types of stages, and have closed and reopened several times.

Right now this brand is enjoyning a lot of success, and offer instruments just for everyone, from the top of the range British made Club and Club Elite series to the more affordable Korean made Club series, to which the bass you see here I think belongs.

Special attention has been payed in this series to reproduce the all important details that made Burns instruments so unique.

BISON BASS

The Bison Bass owes it's desing, styling and electronics to the Bison Guitar, hence the unusal (for a bass) arrangement of 3 Single Coil pickups

This Bass was a favourite among session musicians in the Sixties due to its long scale and wide variety on big tones.

With all the same features as the original, the new Bison Bass is now used by many modern bands for live work and recording.

This is how the clever switching works:

Controls are: Volume, Tone, Mode and A/B switch

With A/B switch in position A, rotating the Mode pot offers the following modes:

Split Sound: Neck pickup + Bridge pickup

Bass: Neck pickup

Treble: Bridge pickup

Wild Dog: Bridge pickup, with extra bite and output

With A/B switch in position B, rotating the Mode pot offers the following modes:

Split Sound: Neck pickup + Bridge pickup + Middle Pickup

Bass: Neck pickup + Middle Pickup

Treble: Bridge pickup + Middle Pickup

Wild Dog: Middle Pickup on its own

This gives you 8 very useable tones that range from classic deep subsonic lows to scooped modern sounds and lead-type aggresive sounds.

Features include:

• One tone control

• One master volume

• A/B pickup selector
