This Tulip bass was hand made by Leila Sidi of TunaTone Instruments. The first instrument of its kind, this bass was built as a prototype without the initial intention of sale, to ensure that all design decisions were in the direct vision of its maker.  This bass features a Flame Maple neck and Indian Rosewood Fingerboard and the only Roadhouse Duo Mar Split Coil pickup ever made. A Certificate of Authenticity will be provided.

TunaTone Instruments are handmade electric guitars that are recognized as innovative, elegant and most importantly, they are designed and built ergonomically by Leila Sidi, an occupational therapist and luthier. She prioritizes the experience of women musicians, a significant demographic of guitarists who have typically been left out of the design equation. TunaTone recognizes the guitar as a tool for creative expression and aims to produce instruments that enable musicians to do their best playing.

TunaTone Instruments take inspiration from mid-century catalogue guitars and apply a boldly simple aesthetic a lightweight and ergonomic design with a robust and lively response, and impeccable attention to detail and use of the highest quality materials.

Leila Sidi has been woodworking for 11 years and building guitars for 8. Her guitars have been featured in She Shreds Magazine, Fretboard Journal, Guitar Magazine, Premier Guitar, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation as well as various podcasts.
