**COMPLETELY CUSTOM**Big River/Fender Strat**Sage Nitro Relic**Bareknuckle Apache’s**

The Big River “Izabella”

Up for sale is Big River custom hard tail strat. Started with an alder body which was prepped, sealed and then given twelve coats of our custom Sage Nitro, topped with several coats of clear and finally hung up to do it’s thing . Then when ready, the body was wet sanded, lightly relic’d and buffed. There is beautiful checking through out.

The licensed neck is a roasted maple, 25.5” scale length, 22 frets, 9.5” radius, bone nut and aged vintage Kluson style tuners. The back of the neck was given a treatment of fine sanding, then given a finish of Linnseed Oil and Beeswax and buffed by hand up to 3500. The back of this neck from frets 2-12 feels absolutely incredible in your hands.

All of the hardware was aged here in house including the bridge. We went with a Callahan steel bridge with bent steel saddles, which was converted to a hardtail. The stability and resonance of this strat is fantastic.

The black pick guard, pick up covers, knobs and back plate were also aged to blend with the vibe of the rest of this beautiful strat. Under the hood I built a 5way wiring harness with a blender which opens up several killer tones you won’t find in a standard strat giving you the ability to add the neck or bridge into each position. I used an Oak 5 way switch, 250k CTS pots, a CTS blender pot on the second tone knob, a .047 Mallory Mustard cap, a treble bleed, a PureTone 4 prong input jack and Gavitt cloth pushback wire throughout.

This strat has the traditional 5 positions, but when you dial back the blender pot from ten to zero you get the following. ….
1.) Bridge + Neck
2.) Bridge + Middle + Neck
3.) Middle
4.) Neck + Middle + Bridge
5.) Neck + Bridge

The beautiful thing is that you can blend in as much or little of the neck or bridge into each position.

For pick ups I went with a set of Bareknuckle Apaches. The Apache is a pure, full-bodied early '50s single coil set that uses Alnico III magnets.

The Apache single coils are based on the rounder, fatter tones of the original '54 to '57 coils. They have a deep bottom end with a bell-like chime in the highs, and rich, wide, mid-range produce a crystal-clear clean tone without ever sounding harsh or thin. Overdriven tones sound full and crunchy with plenty of body for single note work. Scatter-wound by hand with vintage correct Heavy Formvar wire, the bridge coil is wound a little hotter to give better balance across the set. The calibrated Alnico III magnets are hand-bevelled and set in fibre board flat work in either the original '54 stagger with low G magnet, or the more common '56 stagger. The low magnetic pull of the Apache allows for excellent dynamics and perfect intonation.

Anyway this strat feels, plays and sounds incredible. It 100% punches way above its weight class, from the smooth as silk neck to the fine checking, to the vintage tone and feel, the Big River “Izabella” is strat that kicks an incredible amount of ass. Here at Big River we’ve decided to take the next step in building our own instruments, starting with a line of three different style guitars. The first, an S Style (The Izabella), second a T Style (The Moses), and third a JM style (The Grace). All of our guitars will be hand built in house and finished in our own custom nitro colors, with premium parts, and top of the line pickups. Not all guitars will be relic’d, we will be offering numerous types of finishes for bodies and necks. Check back as more guitars are being built as we speak.

My instruments receive a full setup, with a
deep body/neck cleaning and polish. All
gloss maple boards are polished, while all
rosewood/darker boards receive an F1 &
lemon oil treatment. make sure all
electronics are in working order and if
something under the hood needs to be
changed, I make that determination
based upon what type/year guitar im
working on. But either way I am upfront in
my listing. Guitars are set up with
D'Addario XL 9-42's. Action is checked.
and adjusted to Low-Med if necessary.
and tuning and intonation is set on all
instruments before I pack them to ship.

It always made me feel good when i
pulled a guitar out of a box and basically
only had to tune it up to pitch and away
you go, so I try to afford you the buyer, of
that same courtesy. Understand though
set ups are a truly personal thing. I
cannot guarantee everything but I try to
use the bell curve when it comes to
setting up instruments, so even if there is
something you wanted changed it is not a
big ordeal. Feel free to ask if there is
