Vintage 1991 Ibanez RG550 w upgrades

Here we have one black Ibanez RG550 with rosewood fretboard. This beauty is in excellent condition for being a 24 year old guitar. The neck is built for shredding and the string action is low and comfortable.

I changed several things electronically, as when I purchased it the original pickguard had several mini switches. The “mother of bowling ball” pickguard now has a DiMarzio PAF Pro in the neck and a DiMarzio Super Distortion in the bridge. The middle pickup is the original, but it’s not wired up. The controls are master volume, master tone and a 3 way Fender Tele switch. I have tested it and the volume pot is a little scratchy from not being played much lately. Some contact cleaner might be in order.

Overall condition is excellent. The neck shows virtually no play wear and the frets bear that out as well. There are no dings anywhere on the back of the neck. The body has a couple of very minor dings, but nothing through the paint, and there is no buckle rash at all. There is one ding on the face between the tailpiece and endpin, but I couldn’t get it to photograph. It’s about an inch long and again is not through the paint. This also has the obligatory small finish cracks on both sides of the neck joint, about a half inch to an inch. These don’t affect the instrument performance at all.

Comes in the original case, which is in good shape with all latches and handle working as intended.
