For sale is my heavily modified M-190 turned custom D-180.
Mike B at Mesa built this for one of his friends years ago and I acquired it right before the Gibson Buyout of Mesa.
This is one of the rarest pieces of Mesa Gear you will ever find, as it is literally the only one ever made like this.

While I am open to offers, please consider the rarity of this amp (being one of a kind), and note this is a sale prompted by continued family emergencies and not a “want to sell” scenario.
This is literally the best and most dynamic amp I have ever owned.
Price drop reflects the need to pay for continued medical bills from critical surgeries of a family member.

Mike attached a modified Preamp to the front of the amp, which features pull switches on the Volume and Treble.
It also was modified to have an effects loop, and a switch in the back for “Normal” or “Hot” for the power section.
Normal is similar to a standard D-180 or IIC+ Coliseum power section.
Hot is more similar to “Modern” on a Dual or Triple Rectifier.
In the Hot position, the amp is much louder, tighter, more clear/articulate, and much more aggressive.
The power section and transformers for these D-180/M-190 amps are essentially identical to the highly coveted IIC+ Coliseums as they utilize the same boards and parts.

This amp works phenomenally well both for guitar or bass.
It is also the ultimate pedal platform I have ever heard from any tube amp.

I have owned dozens of D-180’s and M-190’s over the years and none of them even come close to this amp.
I have also owned a number of the Mark II coliseums and again, they are no comparison.

It is still completely possible to use this as a power amp for another preamp as well.
One of my favorite pairings was to use my Mike B modded IIC++ Studio Preamp (For sale in my shop in another listing).
Effectively this created a highly modified custom IIC++ Coliseum.
This pairing would go from the most mesmerizing cleans to the most vicious distortion I have ever heard.
I have also owned just about ever iteration of Mark II and Mark III, including Coliseums, the JP2C, and have also owned most variations of Dual and Triple Rectifiers.
Again, nothing even approaches the sound and feel of this amp.

This was completely serviced by Mike B recently and will be rock solid for years to come.

Various unexpected life circumstances have caused me to realize that I need to massively pair down my collection.
If not for that, these items had always been in the “I will never sell this” category.
You simply will not find anything like this ever again.
This is literally a one of a kind custom amp from Mike B and there is not another like it, nor will one like it ever be made again.

I know this Amazing amp will bring immense joy and inspiration to the next owner, just as it did for me.

Item will be packaged with care and covered by Reverb Protection.
