Well, what can you say? It is what it is. One of the rarest of all vintage Telecaster models was the 1968 and 1969 Blue Floral. Unfortunately, there were problems that often manifested with the combination of body sealer, floral wallpaper, and top coat. Many just came apart over time, leaving nothing but a bare wood body.
In this case, at least it's an interesting and historically important body. It's an early example, featuring the diagonal channel rout, with the plastic covering the channel. There is still blue floral paper present on parts of the body, and the solid blue finish remains on all the way around the sides. Also, very importantly, the original "clear" pickguard is still with the body. The pickguard is crazy rare and I've been offered thousands just for it. I believe it is appropriate for the blue Paisley model, too. In any event, thus far I've avoided the temptation to separate these two pieces, the two most important and unique parts of the Blue Floral guitar. These are important relics of Fender Telecaster history. Build a guitar around them? Put them in a museum? Try to restore it using the sample paper still present on the nice alder body? Use the pickguard on your awesome condition $25K blue Paisley that is missing its original pg? It's up to someone besides me.
I'm open to offers, but again, many people might not believe the offers I've received for just the pickguard. I'm also open to partial trades for pre-CBS Fender bodies, parts, etc.
