Premier Elite 5 Piece Drumkit 1970s Natural

Beauty kit. Late 70s Premier Elite 5 piece shellpack. I would guess this one is from 1978-79. All birch shells with beech rerings. This one comes in the Natural Wood finish, which was a special order at the time, you wont find many of these in this finish! The 18" floor tom is also quite uncommon. Killer sounding drums, warm and fat, they sound like only vintage Premiers do.

The drums look great, especially from a few feet away. The Natural Wood finish is good at camouflaging marks and wear until you get up closer. I have taken the drums completely apart and polished the chrome and everything. Overall the chrome looks great, with typical Premier chrome quality. A few spots of wear on a couple lugs and T rods and thats about it. One floor tom bracket T wingnut has half cracked off, but it still works. The internal mufflers are all there and working, and the tom mount also works great.
The wood finish has lacquer lines forming in many places, which actually look cooler in my opinion. Various marks and light dings throughout the kit and general signs of age in the finish, but no deep gouges or structural issues in the shells. The 16" floor tom has a spot near a leg bracket with some outer ply seperation, but it doesnt go through the drum and could be glued down and evened out.
The internal washers/lug bracket plates were quite rusty when I got the kit. I cleaned them and got rid of alot of the rust/grime, but they still have some rust on them, as well as some spots of stained rust on the wood underneath where they sit.
Everything appears to be original besides the 14" tom has a slingerland style hoop on the top, and one floor tom leg is missing its rubber foot.
Overall a players vintage kit that sounds superb and still looks great.
