This is a GREAT Selmer Mark VI Tenor Saxophone.
The Mark VI tenor is a modern icon of saxophones. Made popular by jazz greats throughout history, the Mark VI is generally considered the finest saxophone ever made. Pristine examples can command prices well in excess of $15000, and saxes of the five-digit vintage like this one (67950) are generally considered the best instruments. This saxophone is in great condition. Lacquer is not original (alas) and about 85% present. This is likely a pretty old relacquer as it has aged to a delicate honey color. This instrument has had a recent rebuild and is completely gig ready. Neck is original with the matching serial number. Our saxophone professional reports that this is one of the best players to come through the shop in a while! Includes Protec gig bag.
