It’s a fixer/project or parts guitar - not functional as is but also not hopeless: Spyder trem grooves are warped where they grab onto the height posts. Small metal shim plates installed between posts to prevent bridge from slipping down but are ineffective. Strings are touching frets and bridge cannot being heightened as is. The neck appears to be straight. I’m not sure if the neck is warped (OR) if the tres rod works as I have not attempted to adjust it. Back of neck has been sanded and refinished towards top frets. Neck glued (and) screwed onto body. I do not know if neck is a goner or not. I ‘think’ it’s okay but cannot guarantee it. I believe the problem is not the neck being warped so much as the neck sitting too high on the body. It’s possible that filing the pickguard around the neck could provide the clearance needed to get action right. It’s also possible that removing material from the neck cavity on body will solve the issue. It’s also possible that a new bridge that simply sits a bit higher and maintains its height consistently could solve problem. This project will require some patience, tenacity, experience and creativity to complete. I’ve tried to mention all the little quirks going on.

Mod 3 body w/ a mod 2 neck. Original kahler Spyder trem is all original and still intact. The neck is SCALLOPED. Was given to me by a friend. Scallop job done buy someone on Charvel forum in early 2000’s. Neck plate is a replacement part. Finish has dings and temperature cracks. The body and all hardware including pickups and electronics are all original mod 3 and intact. Very end of fretboard has a chip missing (not on a fret). Left bridge post bolt doesn’t sit snuggly in it’s threading - it’s jiggly but does stay in the hole.
.
Please know you’re buying a hot mess so that you’re not mad at me when you get this guitar. I cannot guarantee anything as I’m not a luthier - I’m a guitarist who takes their guitars apart. I’m not trying to swindle anyone but I’m just not sure what’s possible and what’s a lost cause with this guitar. It needs to be in the hands of a Charvel enthusiast who’s motivated and patient enough to figure it out (or) a reputable luthier.
