Tokyo Road presents this vibey "E" Series 1988 Fender 1962 Jazz Bass Reissue made at the legendary Fujigen plant. Much has been said about the high quality materials and world class craftsmanship at the Fujigen Plant. Let's be honest, ALL of the Fender Japan offerings through the years are incredible instruments and fantastic values. But the E Series are regarded as better. Just better. Just sayin.

Take this lovely E Series 1962 Reissue for example - The fretboard is crafted from a thick slab of dark Rosewood just like in 1962. Vintage style frets have been installed and dressed to perfection. The Canadian maple neck has Vintage Paddle wide base tuners, a nylon nut, and the round string tree just like back in the day.

The neck carve is a comfortable medium U taper that starts at .88" at the first fret with slight shoulder all the way up to the 12th fret where the .99" thickness fills the hand nicely. The truss rod turns both ways as it should and is adjusted for perfect relief. It's an easy player with medium low action and perfect intonation.

This particular version of the JB62 sports a resonant Basswood body finished in Urethane with a deep black lustre. It does have a few dents and scratches scattered around the edges and the back, and a paint fill on the lower rim, but she's a looker from the front. And most importantly the back of the neck is clean and free of dents. It's a smooth player and very well balanced at a perfect 9.2lbs. And check out that patina! Perfectly aged nickel and chrome parts, just a little tarnish on the screws, it looks the part.

The pickups are the JB Japan Pickups designed by Fender USA. They offer a wide variety of tones through the 2 Volume, 1 Tone control panel. Deep lows to fill the room and rumble your chest, bright honky highs, and everything in between. These pickups do a wonderful job of emulating that vintage sound. Pots date to January and Feb 1988. This beauty will come with the modern Fender Gig Bag in the photos.
