This Used Fender Custom Shop Eric Clapton Stratocaster Masterbuilt by Mark Kendrick in Gold Leaf is on consignment. It is in great shape in terms of cosmetics and playability. The neck is straight, the frets should either be crowned or replaced at this point. The frets have been filed before so there is not much left. The truss rod functions properly. Included with the guitar are a hardshell case and a reprinted certificate of authenticity.

A quick story. This guitar was rushed out of a burning house in California during the fires of 2022. Its original case and certificate were lost in the fire, though a correct style Tweed Hardshell Case is included as is a re-printed Custom Shop Certificate.

This Gold Leaf Clapton was made around the time that Todd Krause took over building duties from Mark Kendrick. One of the last Kendrick-built Clapton Strats and it's a Gold Leaf? Too cool! An Alder body is underneath that beautiful Gold Leaf which helps the guitar weigh in at 8 lbs 4 oz. This is an exceptionally difficult finish to execute and takes the tough of a master!

The neck is made from highly figured maple and carved to the Clapton V Profile. Kendrick's take on the neck involves a slightly rounder V than you'll feel on a Todd Krause carved piece. There's a soft v on the spine but the shoulders feel fairly C-like. A 9.5" fingerboard radius and Vintage Frets have been the standard on a Clapton Strat for decades. 25.5" scale and 1.650" nut width provide a classic Fender feel.

A trio of Fender Vintage Noiseless Stratocaster Pickups is installed. The pickups are technically humbuckers so they operate noise-free. However, they maintain that classic Fender Single Coil snap you've come to expect when playing a Strat! A master Volume, Master Tone, ..., and a 5-way pickup selector switch round out the important electronic details.

Nobody treats used guitars as we do at The Music Gallery! Every trade-in goes through an inspection, gets cleaned, some fresh strings, and a full set-up before being sold. We often even put guitars with worn frets through our Plek machine if necessary! Rest assured, any Used Guitar from The Music Gallery has undoubtedly passed its physical!
