First introduced in 1958, the ES-335 was Gibson’s groundbreaking answer to players who wanted the warmth and openness of a hollowbody with the sustain and feedback resistance of a solidbody. By pairing a semi-hollow laminated maple body with a solid maple centerblock, the ES-335 created a new sonic category that quickly became a standard across blues, rock, jazz, soul, and beyond. More than six decades later, it remains one of the most recorded, performed, and imitated electric guitars in history.
This modern ES-335 stays true to that legacy while offering the refined feel and consistency today’s players expect. Acoustically resonant yet controlled, its voice balances woody warmth with clear articulation and singing sustain. Clean tones are open and expressive, with rich low mids and chime on top, while overdriven sounds bloom with harmonic complexity and punch. From expressive blues phrasing and jazz comping to classic rock crunch and indie textures, the ES-335 adapts effortlessly to the player’s touch.
Finished in a deeply cool Ocean Blue gloss nitrocellulose lacquer, this ES-335 pairs timeless design with modern visual flair. A comfortable Rounded C mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard, and calibrated T-Type humbuckers complete the package, delivering classic semi-hollow tone with excellent balance and playability. Available now at Haggerty’s Music, a Gibson hardshell case is included to keep this iconic instrument protected wherever your music takes you.
