Höfner S5PA guitar 80s - German vintage - set neck - active wiring

Very rare Hofner S5PA made in the 80s in Germany with active electronics.

Höfner is one of the most known German maker of musical instruments. The company was founded in 1887 in Luby/Schönbach (today Czech Republic). After WW2 Hofner moved to Möhrendorf in West-Germany and became one of the biggest makers of stringed instruments in the world.

Paul McCartney used a Hofner 500/1 throughout his career with the Beatles. But also many famous players started out on Hofner guitars and basses: John Lennons, Keith Richards, Eric Clapton, Albert Lee, Mark Knopfler, Hank Marvin just to name a few.

The instrument was 100% checked, cleaned and got a setup.

The guitar is all original and in very nice condition. There is some flaws (bubbles) in the finish on the back and around the neck joint. Pleas watch the pictures carefully.

The straight neck and good neck angle permit a very low action.

It comes with new jumbo frets and plays like butter.

The second pot is a push pull pot, that activates the active electronics. You can get some really crazy sound out of this Hofner...

The great sounding pickups are made by Schaller. The bridge is super heavy and weight 238g Gramm.

This guitar has a very nice sustain.

It is of course inspired by Gibson, but has its own character.

Shipping: The guitar will be shipped with DHL. If you want another currier, let me know. The guitar will be packed well in a sturdy box and with enough suitable packaging material like bubble foil. There is always a certain risk, especially when shipping oversea. But over the last years I shipped many instruments and had not a single damage.

1. the guitars/basses I sell play well and are completely restored, setup and working
2. the insruments are worth their money and will in most cases increase in value with time
3. if you dont like what you get, I take everything back within two weeks (buyer pays for shipping)
