Vintage Gretsch Synchromatic , serial number 7863 written in pencil inside the guitar. It's a 1945 or 1946 ( have the original price tag with date of purchase ) .This guitar sat in it's original hardshell case for over 74 years , before being attended to. It has an AMAZING backstory, I don't have enough space , I can tell you it was purchased by 14 year old boy in May of 1946, that same young man was killed on a bicycle 6 months later in September 1946 just prior to his 15th birthday. His younger brother kept the guitar for 74 years, and sold it just before his death in 2020. This guitar has plenty of checking on the finish, but it plays beautifully. It was professionally restored by two of the best in North Carolina. Binding had to be reglued, and the body was buffed out. Nothing was done to it to hurt the value, and the checking was all left as it was. Tuners were removed , cleaned, oiled and replaced on the guitar. It had absolutely no fret wear on it whatsoever, still has the factory chatter marks in the frets, they've just been polished not sanded. This guitar is an excellent shape , especially for something 77 years old ! Have plenty of extra photos, just contact for more photos.
