I've been told that these ivoroid Maltese cross friction pegs were used on some SS Stewart banjos, though I don't know that for sure. May have been used on other high end brands as well. The two tuners I have are one for the headstock and one 5th string tuner, both are in excellent condition with no cracks or shrinkage. Quite rare.
