Klira Patricia 50's Red Burst

50’s Golden Era of German guitars, made by Klira workshop ( Johannes Klier’s, and his offsprings) in Bubenreuth, South Germany. Same accastillage subcontractors as for Isana, Hofner & Framus makers.

Body is plywood all over, spruce bracings, three-piece maple neck, old-fashioned ‘D’ profile, rosewood fingerboard, vintage jumbo frets, no truss rod in this period. Two-colour sunburst black and red under a fine nitrocellulosic finish, acrylic bindings on neck and body, headstock face adornment is perloid & melanin, perloid fingerboard inlays, genuine open tuners 50’s style, nickeled brass tail-piece, ebony-like pear-tree wood original bridge, new yellowish perloid pick-guard, true to vintage. ‘Klira’ golden logo decal on sound board. Slight worn-out marks here and there. Genuine end pin, new black vinyl at the heel.

Water damage in the heel area, new fit for the neck, heavy restoration of finish (shellac and nitro finish), thorough polishing. One fret replacement, identical. All-fret set-up, crowning, polishing; fingerboard nourishing.

Models equipped with single-coil German pick-ups (P-90 Type) routed in the sound-board have been seen.
