Jim Triggs is a master luthier and something of a rock star in the archtop world, having worked in the Gibson Custom Shop and now on his own for nearly 30 years, building bespoke instruments for some of the world's most discerning players.
The San Salvador is Triggs' 17" archtop in the style of the Gibson L5-C. Solid carved spruce top with solid bookmatched flame maple back and maple sides. The single-piece maple neck is a moderately shallow "D" profile, and the guitar has a long 25 5/8" scale, with 1 11/16" nut and 2 1/8" string spacing at the saddle. Ebony fingerboard with split Super 400 inlays and jumbo frets, Grover Super Rotomatics, Gold Adjustable Finger Tailpiece, Kent Armstrong Slimbucker, ans hidden volume and tone under the floating pickguard.
