Up for sale is a beautiful and exceptionally clean left handed 1976 Greco Violin Bass in excellent vintage condition and perfect working order. We just gave this a pro set up with a set of 40-100 roundwound strings so it plays amazingly with a straight neck, low action and the original pickups sound great!
Cosmetically, this instrument is insanely clean and has been well taken care of over the years. That’s really an understatement as this axe just hasn’t been played. There’s a few dings scattered around and some mild finish checking by the control plate but that’s about it. Not much else to say here other than some general swirling and light scratching in the clear coat for handling and cleaning. The original frets look great with no real discernible wear to speak of. This is in collector grade. See pics for condition and please excuse any reflections.
To the best of our knowledge, this instrument is 100% original. The truss rod works flawlessly but is coming to the end of its range. It’s almost as tight as it can go. As previously mentioned, the neck is straight and has been adjusted with optimal neck relief so this should never be an issue as long as you’re not using heavy strings. These instruments weren’t designed to use heavy strings anyways.
Comes with the original hard shell case which is a little musty smelling. The bass weighs 5lbs 7.5oz. The nut width is 1.585”. The neck thickness is .855” at the 1st fret and .955” at the 12th fret.
