Akai MPC 1000 | Fully Upgraded + Extras
MPC 1000 with nearly every conceivable upgrade & a couple of unique extras that make this the ultimate retro MPC setup. If you’re curious about the older MPCs but don’t want to deal with floppy disks, or prefer to work with hardware and physical knobs over a DAW, this is for you.
Use it to chop & sample some LPs, sequence your hardware, or integrate it into your eurorack setup via some clever usage of the four DC-coupled assignable Mix-Outs on the rear and the two Footswitch-Ins on the front. Files can be moved directly from your computer to the built-in 56GB HDD via USB connection, no need to use the CF card if you don’t want to.
Exceptional specimen, no issues whatsoever with this unit besides for a bit of honest wear & tear. I have gone through a few of these over the years and this one has the most responsive pads by far.
- 128MB RAM upgrade installed
- 56GB internal HDD installed
- Installed *paid* JJOS v128XL/128SP (essential for these units)
- XLCD Screen from mpcstuff
- Upgraded pad sensors and Thick Fat pads from mpcstuff
- Retro colorway vinyl wrap from 16squarez
- Moog-style recording gain & main volume knobs
- Custom splash screen on start-up
- All LEDs and buttons work, sliders move smoothly through entire range
- All inputs and outputs are working and clear, no audible noise when adjusting master volume or recording volume pots
- Chassis is clean, with the exception of some light typical wear
- Includes power cable, two CF cards, USB CF card reader, USB transfer cable
- Includes hard case (can be difficult to find one that accommodates the XLCD screen)
- Includes the MPC 1000 MIDI Mixer (read on…)
The MIDI Mixer adds hardware volume and pan controls for 16 tracks via MIDI, as well as eight buttons mapped to shortcuts that optimize the MPC workflow & reduce how often you need to press “Mode”. The brains of the MIDI Mixer are an Arduino Uno that can be reprogrammed via the USB port on the back to use whatever MIDI channels you would like – you can control a lot more than your MPC with this thing. Powered by the standard 9V pin-negative DC that most guitar pedals take.
Open to reasonable offers. Can ship but would prefer to deal locally in greater Chicagoland. Thanks for looking, feel free to message with any questions.
