Paoletti guitars are absolutely extraordinary boutique guitars with a unique take on a tried and true, classic design. While most of the Paolettis we've had in here at the shop are of the S- and T-type variety, our masterpiece-building friends over in Italy can serve up so much more - this gorgeously-adorned 500 Lounge 2PSY in a distressed 400 Heavy Black finish is their take on the vintage archtop-style hollowbody, complete with Seymour Duncan pickups that resonate with tone true to the era.
Featuring the finest tonewoods including their signature reclaimed chestnut as the main body wood, the acoustic voice of this hollowbody guitar is top-tier. The playability of the roasted maple neck and ebony fingerboard are absolutely stellar, and the speed and ease of play of this neck is a step above guitars of a similar type. The fretwork, which needs to be of the highest standard for a guitar of this price point, lives up to expectations and then some.
Paoletti create incredible pickups in their own right, so when they turned to Seymour Duncan for the Psyclone pickups in this axe, you know they must be amazing. These are clearly based on vintage "Filtertron" humbucking pickups, and they nail that vibe immensely - the chime, jangle, and punch that those pickups are known for are all there, and they cover every kind of jazz, blues, rockabilly, and rock tones you could ever dream of. The bridge pickup also has a bit more power to get into heavier rock territory just fine. These pickups sound incredible!
Handmade in Italy by master builder Paoletti Fabrizio, these really are special instruments that have that "masterbuilt" vibe, and this one is no exception. Who needs a Ferrari when you can have the Ferrari of guitars?
The Paoletti 500 Lounge 2PSY features their signature 150 year old Chestnut body, a roasted maple neck with an ebony fingerboard, and Seymour Duncan Psyclone "Filtertron"-style pickups.
