Tim Davis is making some of the finest bluegrass banjos on the market, bar none. Tim’s wife is an incredible inlay artist and does all the inlay work. Tim makes a fantastic neck and rim and the fit and finish of the banjo is outstanding.
The Companion Custom Banjo Company was established in 2015 in Ann Arbor, MI by Chris and Stephanie Sorenson. This banjo is a wonderful marriage between Tim Davis and Chris Sorenson. Davis made the neck, which is a beautiful maple Gibson style 2-inlay neck and a Companion pot with an integrated wooden tone ring. The fit and finish is outstanding and the tone is very strong. The banjo weighs 3 lbs less than a standard flathead metal tone ring banjo.
