The 1960’s Duo Jet models all featured a double cutaway body style. This design is a bit lighter than a single cut version and offers much improved access to the higher frets. The Duo Jet can be considered a solid body guitar because it’s constructed of a solid mahogany back. However, due to the heavily chambered body and a 3 ply maple top, the guitar retains some of that sweet hollow body Gretsch tone. The neck is a slightly slimmer “C” shape with softer taper and traditional feel. This shape, combined with a 12” fretboard radius and 19th fret neck joint gives the guitar tremendous playability and accessibility. The pickups are the classic Gretsch "HS" FilterTron's which are widely known for their fantastic and versatile tone. The voice of the guitar is clear and true with tight bass response and crystal clear treble. The pickups offer very low noise and sound fantastic clean but handle quite a bit of overdrive as well! The guitar is well suited for a multitude of playing styles from jazz to blues and rock & roll. This guitar is in overall very good condition with one small ding on the back along with some light surface scratching and polish swirling and some lifting of the sparkle wrap on the top of the instrument. This guitar comes with the original hardshell case.
