Based on the original 1960's API 550 EQ, this is an incredibly versatile and smooth EQ. It's great on vocals, bass, guitar, drums -- pretty much whatever you can throw at it! The gain and frequency knobs are stepped switches, so recall is a breeze. Plus you have the added functionality of switching between Shelving and Peak on the high and low bands, as well as separate fixed High Pass and Low Pass Switches, which are set to 15khz and 50hz respectively.
This is one of CAPI's newer offerings, so the internet hype hasn't quite reached a fevered pitch yet... but our clients have been raving about them!
A note on opamps: we include the Gar1731 by default -- it'll give you the smoothest results, and allow you to push the gain to the max without harshness. We also offer the Red Dot, Gar2520, Rogue 5, Rogue 6, and CA-0252. Send us a message for a quote with different opamps.
