For your consideration, Garrett Park Guitars presents this 1971 Zemaitis 12-String.

This guitar deserves special mention. Tony Zemaitis began building guitars after apprenticing as a woodworker. He found an old guitar and decided to restore it and that set him on the path. His guitar soon attracted the attention of British rock royalty, including Eric Clapton, George Harrison, Ronnie Wood, Jimi Hendrix and many others. He insisted that each of his guitars were unique and never made the same guitar design twice.
This unusual example from 1971 features many of his detailed touches, including the inlay around the sound hole and in the position markers. He also used Brazilian rosewood back and sides and a unique sound chamber inside the guitar that acted as another back, or a baffle that directed the sound through the sound hole. The neck is detailed and quite unique, featuring a slight volute, a rounded C shape, a five-ply laminate of mahogany and Brazilian rosewood with a maple insert, an Ebony fingerboard with turquoise inlays, Schaler (“Made in West Germany”) tuners, a Brazilian rosewood pick guard, walnut marquetry around the sound hole with turquoise inserts, and many other features unique to his design. Everywhere you look on this guitar there are signs of Tony’s careful attention to detail. It has a very nice set up and plays very well, the string spacing is great for a guitar of this size, and it rings like a proverbial bell. It’s set up with a pickup and a quarter inch jack above the strap pin, the pick up is of unknown origin.
