Hamer Sunburst guitar Vintage 1978 Made in USA DImarzio's w/mods. + Hard Case

Here is a vintage Hamer Sunburst double cutaway electric guitar.  Made in the USA in 1978.  This is an early example of the Sunburst line.  It has the elongated headstock before they shortened it.  So most likely built in early 1978. Factor Grover tuning machines. Factory Dimarzio PAF humbucker pickups. Factory hardtail bridge with a Rosewood spacer.   These early Sunburst's were made by Tom Holmes.   Single piece of Mahogany for the body, and a Mahogany neck as well.  Flame Maple top, and a bound Rosewood fingerboard with Trapezoid inlays.  24 3/4 scale and plays like butter.    This guitar weighs 7lbs 12oz.    There are some mods done to this guitar and I will explain.  When I got it, it had a changed bridge pickup.  I have installed the factory Dimarzio PAF.  The original Dimarzio neck PAF at some point has had an additional wire tapped to the inner coil for coil tapping.  It was done a long time ago and is done nicely.   There are three mini toggle switches.  Originally when I got the guitar it had long bat switches that got in the way of the pickup toggle.  So I changed them to short bat switches.  Much much better now.  So the two switches that are close to each other are Coil tap for the neck humbucker, and a Phase reversal switch for the bridge humbucker.   This way when you are on both humbuckers, you can choose in or out of phase (ala peter green) The third mini toggle behind the pickup selector is a switch for two different caps.  There is a .22 and a .47. This way you have a choice. (see photo of cavity)  The cavity cover has a previous  owner's info carved into the back it. This was very common back in the day to identify your guitar.  There is a small hairline crack in the top from the installation of the mini switches.  Again, this was done long ago. It poses no issue and does not affect the guitar at all. The pots, switch, and jack are original.  The guitar has Schaller Strap Lock buttons installed and I will include the Strap side locks as well.  
Cosmetically the guitar is very good condition for its age. Hey... it's 45 years old.   There is some belt buckle on the back.  There are no cracks, breaks or any structural issues.  No neck repairs.  Solid guitar.   There are scuffs, marks, indents, and general wear and tear.  This guitar has been loved and you can tell.   The neck is straight and the truss rod is working as it should.  The frets are in very good condition with some wear. No major divots.  Just some light flattening from normal play.  There are two score marks on the fingerboard.  One on the first fret and one on the fourth fret.  The guitar is strung with 10-46's and plays great.  It comes in a period correct hard case. It is not the original. Truly a great guitar.  WIth the mods it may turn off some purists but let me tell you, you can get a ton of sounds from this guitar.  Tapping the neck PAF and playing with medium gain...  man it's worth the price of admission alone.      I have lusted over these guitars for years and I finally got one. I put the right stuff back in and did it justice.   Right now, a certain vintage piece has come up so I'm making some moves towards it.  Otherwise this would be a keeper for me.    Thanks for looking and happy buying!
