This controller set makes it possible to plug just about anything into you 122 For the 145/147 models, you can use the less expencive type 6W, it's about $99 check my other listings or send me a message for details.
This set includes:
(1) Leslie Motor Control Unit II - plugs into the organ's fast motor plug and gives a type 122 speaker, off/slow/fast. It plugs right into the fast motor plug on the Leslie, then the motors plug into it. It eliminates the need for DC voltage on the audio line that usually controls the switching on a 122, as well as the dip in audio signal from switching and the lag of the switch, as well it adds an "off" position to the 122.
(1) Dual Footswitch for speed control - one side is off/on the other is fast slow
(1) Leslie Power Box - 1/4 inch TRS balanced audio audio in a power cable, on/off switch and 6 pin connector providing power and audio to the Leslie speaker. The little box plugs directly into the Leslie meaning no aditional cable is required. May also be used unbalanced for type 147 speakers in unbalanced mode, as well as Hammond Tone cabinets. It does require that your bottom back cover is removed to use it, but 90% of bottom back covers have been lost long ago, and many people don't even realize these cabinets had bottom back covers. (a la carte price $69)
As you may know the DC switching voltage of a 122 has made quality, affordable controllers nearly impossible. Until now. By “taking over” the switching duties, this controller eliminates the need to send DC voltage down the audio line. Also it adds the motors off feature making the Leslie three speed (optionally). And there doesn't have to be ANY modifications or harm to the Leslie. There is no delay when switching
(This doesn't work with the rare and unusual 122a, which was produced by Suzuki many years after the original 122's)
This also works for the 147 type speakers (type 6W), eliminating the need for high voltage AC on the switch and giving it off/slow/fast operation. The switch uses -5v DC so they've perfectly safe (unlike some stock relays that send half of 120v AC to your switch.
This auction includes a dual footswitch, everything you need to control the Leslie's motor speed, and get audio signal and power to the Leslie.
If you want to use your own switch, it just needs to be a TRS 1/4 inch plug or a half moon with a 1/4 TRS inch.
If you are using a vintage 5 pin Hammond and a 122 check my other to find a listing for the same unit without the power box for $129 If you don't see one listed, contract me.
Also a vintage half moon can be wired up with a 1/4 inch, and I can tell you how to do that.
Check my other auctions for other Leslie controller innovations, or contact me directly via message for a consultation.
Keep in mind, if you don't like it you can put it all back in the box and and send it back for a refund within 14 days of receiving it, but I am confident you will like it and so far have received NO requests to return any of these controllers.
Any questions feel free to ask. Be sure to let me know what kind of Leslie you are using and what you want to plug into it for an instrument.
Shipping is via USPS priority mail. FedEx shipping is possible for a bit more.
Why Fishsticks?!?
Um... There are a few reasons. I have a 1984 Mercedes diesel that I converted to run on waste veggie oil, that kinds smells like fishsticks, so I first named that Dr. Fishsticks. I wanted to choose a name for these controllers that would let you know that I'm not one of those way to uptight, grumpy, Hammond organ guys, that I am a guy in my converted garage workshop making this stuff for you. I don't have a clear coat on my online presence pretending to be a big operation, I'm a one-man operation, and proud of it. I am a piano technician, a tube amp and Hammond/Leslie repair man, and a player, and have been for 20 years. Also, I like fishsticks.
