This is a really great sounding and playing banjo.  If you are looking for "the tone," this has it!  Now, for authenticity...there are no serial numbers/factory order numbers present anywhere, in the form of stamped into the wood or a sticker in the pot. There is a driver's license number etched into the inside of the rim and inside of the resonator. It's owner (it's here on consignment) says he purchased the banjo in the late 1960's or early 1970's. We know Bob Abrams had worked on it.  Bob made a lot of reproduction necks and did refinishes as well.  The neck and inside of the pot look like they may have some areas that were at least touched up. The resonator is the Kel Kroyden Blue Flame style. Has a Mastertone tone ring.  The tuners are Grovers for the low and high Ds, Scruggs for the G and B and 5 Star for the 5th string.  Spike capos are installed at the 7th and 9th frets. Has a 3 screw attachment for the resonator.  There is obvious wear on the banjo, including a lot of play wear and scratches on the back of the neck.  Inlay has some areas (mostly on headstock) that have shrunk around the edges and the Mastertone inlay block has a crack.  Finish has shrunk into the wing seams on the back of the headstock. There is some fret wear, with the worst being the 2nd fret, but it plays fine. The binding around the 5th string peg has popped off the bend area. The banjo itself is in very good overall condition and comes with a hard case.

Again, we can't verify the authenticity of everything, but it is a great playing and sounding banjo you'll enjoy.
