Hello, today I’m selling a beautiful Danelectro U-2 with a padded Danelectro gig bag! It’s a very open and jangly sounding guitar with the coveted original lipstick pickups and classic style fit for any player! Very nice and light weight guitar around the 5-6 lbs mark. This is a rare color that some call “commie” red but it’s more of a wine red or dark crimson. But I’m not sure since I’m color blind and most reds look very similar to me after a while ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.
The only reason I’m selling is because I’m moving to a new apartment soon and won’t have the space for as many guitars as I do. This is one of the older ones made in the late 90’s-early 2000’s since it has a rosewood bridge and the old style volume/tone controls. It’s a guitar that you don’t see too often these days and is definitely a rare find.
Condition:
This is a used instrument that is around 20 years old at this point so there are some blemishes, scratches, and other imperfections. I tried my best to document them all so look over the pictures carefully. The frets show very little wear. I didn’t play this guitar much personally but neither did the person who owned it before me either. If you need any more pictures please let me know and I will try my best to document anything if it’s unclear. The volume and tone pots are in great shape but can be a bit scratchy from time to time. But no more so than any other 20 year old guitar. The selector switch can also be a bit scratchy and such but this is nothing new for Danelectros, meaning that it’s still a pretty solid connection. Other than that everything is how it should be. The neck is slim, fast and feels great! Overall has great resonance and sound for really anything!
This is a really cool guitar that doesn’t come around often in these specifications! It will come with a Danelectro gig bag (see pictures), professionally set up and with a new set of strings. That’s about it, see ya.
