CADAC E Series 16 input frame from mixing console desk great condition

This is one great sounding CADAC E Series 16 input modules section from large CADAC E analogue audio mixing console fitted with 15 input modules and 16 input channel faders.

List of modules:

Cadac 6498 mono mic/line input module x 10;

Cadac 6100 x mono mic/line input module x 5;

Cadac 5931 fader module x 16;

Cadac 6310B Input / Output panel x 5;

Custom Input / Output / DC panel x 1;

The modules are in superb physical condition fully tested and working prior decommissioning of the console.

WE CAN NOT TEST THE MODULES BEFORE THE AUCTION THUS SOLD “AS IS”.

Each module is fitted with high quality microphone and line preamplifier for total of 16 microphone inputs, very flexible, great sounding musical THREE band FULLY parametric EQ, High pass filter, eight auxiliary sends and Direct Output.

ALL INPUTS AND OUTPUTS ARE BALANCED.

The highest quality components are used in all modules – ALPS conductive plastic potentiometers, Penny & Giles faders, ALPS switches, WIMA capacitors.

All inputs and outputs are terminated XLR connectors.

Technical Specifications:

CADAC 6498 INPUT MODULE

Inputs: 

-     Microphone inputs  with a range of -10 to -60dB;

-     Pre/Post fader button for channel direct output;

-     20dB pad per input;

-     Phase reverse per input;

-     Phantom Power on/off switch;

-     Input ground lift – does not work when +48 volt is pressed;

-     Opens the post EQ/pre fader insert point;

Equalization: 

-     The EQ is THREE band FULLY parametric with cut and boost   (-18/+18dB);

-     Sweepable bandwidth (Q) - (1.00 – 3.5) per band;

-     HIGH PASS filter sweepable between 40Hz and 160Hz with 12dB per octave slope;

-     HF (high frequency): 1.5kHz to 15kHz;

-     MF (mid frequency): 400Hz to 4kHz;

-     LF (low frequency): 60Hz to 600Hz;

-     Separate illuminated in/out switches are provided for the filter and EQ section;

Insert:

-     The insert point is pre/post EQ, pre/post fader has it’s fitted with In/Out switch;

Auxiliary sends:

-     Each input module is fitted with twelve auxiliary sends switchable on/off, pre/post fader and stereo;

Direct Output:

-     The Direct Output is transformer balanced with high quality Lundahl output transformer (LL5402) switchable before or after the fader.

Input Channel Fader 5931:

-     Each channel fader is fitted with high resolution, 20 segments large LED Meter calibrated from infinity to +10dB with the top LED giving overload indication when the signal reaches approximately 6 dB below clipping.

-     The meter displays the signal after the EQ but before the fader.

-     High quality P&G fader;

CADAC 6100 input module is very similar to 6498 except for the different illuminated switches.

26.25” (667 mm) wide – left to right, 37” (940 mm) deep – front to back and 14”(356 mm) high – top to bottom with the custom stand;

 History:

This input section was removed from large 56 modules CADAC E Series console decommissioned from one of the famous music theatre in London, UK.

The intention was to use this section as 16 microphone preamplifiers with EQ for tracking and build a rudimentary master section with L&R and 4 aux outputs for mixing.

Due to lack of time we will not be able to complete this project. 

The project:

All channel inputs and outputs are already wired to the modules / I/O panels.

We manufactured a custom panel for wiring of the busses

(two EDAC 56 multipin connectors) and two 12 pin circular connectors for the power supplies.

Mating connectors are included.

Internally, the busses have cables that are long enough to reach the EDAC connectors – look at the pictures please – if you want to use the busses.

CADAC E Series consoles requires the following DC power supplies:

+/- 18V DC for audio;

+22V DC for LEDs, logic and switches;

+48V DC for condenser microphones;

We can provide suitable DC cable for a fee with length to fit your requirements.

You can use any high quality power supply from Amek, Calrec, Neve, SSL (or custom) for audio and high quality switching power supply (+22V DC) for the LEDs/relays.

CADAC E Series manual and brochure are included.

Shipping:

The buyer pays for crating and shipping.

This CADAC E input section is very heavy and it will be crated properly for shipping by truck.

It cannot be shipped by UPS, FEDEX or DHL due the size and weight.

­Note:

The caps of the PFL switches on channel 31 and 32 are missing – the switches function properly;

The cap of the MUTE switch on channel 39 is missing – the switch works fine;
