About This Listing

Mosrite Super Custom 65 vintage reissue electric guitar in 100% original, excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case with Mosrite cast emblem on it. This was made at the KuroKumo factory in Japan, just down the road from the famed FujiGen factory, this rare reissue model was made for a limited period, with the majority of examples only available to the domestic Japanese market. KuroKumo-made Mosrites are sought after for their masterful build quality and attention to detail, and this Super Custom 65 replicates all the essential features of the early Ventures Model instruments, with smooth knobs, sandcast Vibramute tailpiece, and first generation German Carve on the basswood body. The stock pair of stock single coil pickups have plenty of power and top end sparkle, with an authoritative treble zing that's quintessential Mosrite. Weighing 8lbs 10oz, this Mosrite has been setup with 10-46s by a full-time professional tech.

The maple neck has Mosrite's signature slender and fast-feeling C shaped profile with a smooth gloss finish and a bound rosewood fretboard.
The profile measures .845" deep at the 2nd fret (just beyond the taper of the volute) and .890" at the 12th. The slender vintage-style frets have their full factory height left.
The body features original single coil pickups that both read just under 7k ohms, and while these pickups are less aggressive in terms of output than vintage Mosrite pickups, they're wound fairly hot for a single coil, balancing traditional chime and more meaty Mosrite tones.
The '65 look is rounded out with a black pickguard, milled aluminum switch tip, and chrome-plated metal Mosrite knobs machined with smooth tops (the design that predated the more common "M" knobs).
The "Vibramute" vibrato is extremely smooth and elegant, touch-sensitive in its responsiveness and made to exacting vintage spec with a sandcast base and chrome plated string anchor and arm.
The instrument is in excellent condition with a sleek Black gloss finish. The neck profile is flawless, and the chrome hardware shines like new. This is an incredibly well-preserved and rare KuroKumo Mosrite with just a faint finish scratch or two in the clear coat of the gloss.

*This guitar comes with the original hardshell case. Please note that one of the latches is broken. The case closes fine and the guitar will be 100% secure during shipping.*
