Martin Model America 1 Adirondack, GE bracing, left-handed

This may be the only left-handed Model America 1 that Martin made...I don't know of another. This model started as a Limited Edition (limited to 75 guitars), then it was listed in Martin's Standard Series, then it was discontinued. I don't know that they ever even made 75 of these - mine is the only lefty I've heard of (I special ordered mine through a dealer).
 
The Model America 1 is a Standard Series Martin with all domestic woods, including:

Adirondack Spruce top and Adirondack braces (Golden Era/ "GE" forward shifted bracing)
Sycamore back & sides
Cherry neck (1-piece, no wings on headstock)
Walnut bridge, fingerboard and headstock overlay

I believe this is the only Standard Series model in recent memory to have an Adirondack/Red Spruce top and Golden Era/GE bracing, usually found on GE and Vintage series models.

Tortoiseshell body binding & pickguard
Bone 1 3/4" nut with MLO neck and PA taper
Bone 2 5/32" saddle
Grover open back tuners (light and smooth)
Comes with original Martin hardshell case

The guitar is incredibly light, like a good D-18. The Adi top and GE bracing gives it a powerful voice, and it is starting to open up and sound big. I find the tone to be somewhere between Mahogany and Rosewood.

This guitar would be listed as MINT, but there is one indent on the top  upper bout by the binding - it does not go through the finish, and is very hard to see except at certain angles in certain light: I've included a couple pictures to show this. From straight on you don't see it at all. 

This is a rare Martin and a great find for another lefty out there!
