This is a very clean all original 1963 Gibson ES-125 3/4 T. Based on the original ES-125, the Gibson ES-125 3/4 T electric guitar provided an entryway for guitarists to dive into the world of archtop guitars. The ES-125 3/4 T was a thinline archtop that sported only one pickup: Gibson’s famous P-90. Though this is just one of many iterations of the ES-125 model, the thinline Gibson ES-125 3/4 T played an important role in the evolution of the guitar. The ES-125T was one of Gibson’s 1950s/60s student models – although really a very nice thinline guitar indeed, having no fancy appointments, but being made from essentially the same materials, and using the same construction methods as all Gibson thinlines of the period & was available as a full or 3/4 scale instrument, and with one or two pickups (ES-125TD). The 3/4 size models sold in considerably smaller numbers than the single pickup ES-125T. Its sunburst finish is quite tidy in all respects all over this pretty thing. Its thin body feels great w/its 3/4 scale dot inlaid unbound rosewood neck. Its single black P-90 pickup is the most versitile pickup they made & has all tones covered from a mellow jazz to a bright crunchy rock tone. Its complete w/its original 50’s type 3-in-line Kluson tuners to its tortoise’gard to its 2 all gold knobs to its nickel trapeze tailpiece. Its truly excellent, 1 of the best around having slight play time & no weather checking. Comes in a nice period soft case.
