Very unique custom guitar, built by an old school luthier committed to using solely hand tools for his creations.
Vermont Instruments began in 1982 by George Morris who designed and made acoustic guitars and other instruments as well as introducing the craft in one-on-one workshops
George came to Vermont in 1976 to apprentice and teach with Charles Fox at the Guitar Resource & Design Center. The school attracted students from as far away as Europe and Australia to learn to make guitars and other stringed instruments.
The design tone & response of this guitar and the side sound hole improves the quality of the guitar’s voice to both the player and the listeners. The offset sound hole placement creates an equilibrium, leaving the soundboard longest on the treble side and shorter on the bass side. That design leaves the medium length section of the soundboard uninterrupted and creates a strong mid-range response.
Guitar Specs:
Build at South Strafford VT
Top: German Spruce
Back & Sides: German Maple
Binding: Ebony
Inlay & Rosette: Sterling Silver
Sound Ports: Upper Bout and Side
