This banjo is a 6-String and tuned like a guitar, which makes it more comfortable and easier to play for a guitar player. It is lighter in weight than you would expect, due to the innovative rim construction that creates excellent note distinction, clarity, and crispness. It also features a custom six string tailpiece, bridge, and sleek neck with beautiful custom inlay. Hard Shell Case included.

Deering Banjo Company was founded in 1975 by Greg & Janet Deering as a family business. Greg Deering began learning wood working from his father at 16 years of age by watching him build model airplanes. Greg made his first banjo as an industrial arts major at San Diego State College. In 1970, at 19 years of age, he joined other young college students at the American Dream Co-op and began doing instrument repair and building banjos. This co-op would become the birthplace of at least four world renowned instrument manufacturers.
