This is a rare and beautiful Bruno Conqueror guitar in mint condition. In 1838 Charles Bruno formed a partnership with Christian F. Martin. His book shop on Fulton Street likely served as a retail outlet for Martin's guitars. There were also Bruno Conqueror brand mandolins and banjos, but some of these instruments date back to the 1920s (Bruno & Sons registered the Conqueror trademark in 1925). Pre World-War II Conqueror instruments were made in the USA by the major manufacturers like Regal and Lange, but after the war Bruno imported from Japan, Taiwan and West Germany. Conqueror brand electric, acoustic, classical, lap-steel and bass guitars were made in Japan in the late 1960s and 1970s, and distributed in the USA by Bruno. This is a high quality copy of a Gibson ES-335 and has a Gibson style headstock. It had a Bigsby style Vibrato. It comes with a very well constructed perfectly fit hard shell case in excellent condition. Great vintage tone.
There is no doubt that this was made with skill in Japan and cared for extremely well by its first owner.
