Fender 50th Anniversary American Deluxe Stratocaster EMG DG-20
”The perfect Strat”. More mids, no hum., This started out as a David Gilmour build; swapped original pick guard with EMG DG-20 active single coils, and pre-amp tone circuit. The active pickups add a whole new range of possible tones to the classic Strat sound, with increased sustain, mids, and none of that pesky 60 cycle hum.
I bought my first Fender Strat back in 93, and I have had five total, since. Of all, this one is the most comfortable and has the neck I like best.
I originally preferred a rosewood fingerboard, mostly for the aesthetic but the modern C shape 9.5 radius maple fingerboard feels like a perfect fit for my hand. The medium jumbo frets facilitate effortless legato, and sweep picking, and the rock hard maple board has a tighter feel . The .010-.046 gauge D’addarios bend like .009’s over the upgraded bone nut, and Fender staggered pole piece machines keep tuning stable when bending or using the two point trem.  A 9volt battery box is below the three-ply, pearloid, trem cover on the back, and makes occasional battery changes a breeze. I’ve had the same 9-volt battery for well over a year, and that’s with regular use.
All in all, to my feel, and ear, this IS the perfect Strat.  I hate to let this beauty go, but my other Strats are not as pristine.
There are two dings that chipped into the poly clear coat, but did not penetrate the color coat. Some minor scuffs, and mild buckle rash located behind the micro-tilt access on the neck plate, but overall she’s a clean and pretty gal.

I’ve been a certified luthier since 1999, and personally set up all of my guitars, with just a minimal neck relief, and action from first to sixth string: 3/64”-5/64”, measured from the top of the twelfth fret, to the bottom of the individual string. Intonation is set, and the pickup height is adjusted to maximum height for highest output. You can lower p’ups for balanced output, or for your ear.  An original Fender hard shell case is included, with the trem arm in the accessory box, and the little spring that maintains tension, while using the trem is installed in the trem arm hole, on the bridge. The guitar will be professionally packed, and shipped within 48hrs of receiving notice of sale.
