C Bruno & Son Mandolin The Vernon 1920 Blonde

1 st Mandolin Vintage C BRUNO & SON Mandolin "The Vernon" New York - Eight String - Used C-Type.  
This beautiful piece of history was found in a closet and had been there for many years. The mandolin is in very good shape with a few wear marks.

• The tuners are original and were patented in 1919 by the Stromberg Voisenet company they are recessed in the carved Rosewood head stock. Based upon that, I believe the instrument was made by Stromberg Voisenet, C. Bruno and Son was the distributor.
• Interior tag reads "The Vernon" C BRUNO & SON NEW YORK. 
• Piece measures approximately 23-1/2 inches long 9" inches wide 3 inches deep. 
• The head stock is carved Brazilian rosewood with a few dings.
• The tuners are recessed and working.
• The neck is straight. The nut is original.
• The frets are good with a little wear. 
• The front body  has a bent (canted) solid spruce top (canted tops were common during this period) has a few dings and line where the bridge was originally set.  I setup the mandolin and moved the bridge (original) for tuning down the neck. I used Thomastik Mandolin 154 Medium Solid steel Core Strings on the instrument.
• The pickguard is original with wear marks.
• The back body is Brazilian Rosewood and has wear marks where the player's clothing rubbed.
• The sides are Brazilian Rosewood.
• The tailpiece is original.

No cracks or repairs are evident on this mandolin.

The case is likely original and has wear and tears on the cloth.

• The neck is separated from the body. The nut is original and will need to be replaced.
• The frets are good with a little wear. 
• The pickguard is missing
• The back body is Brazilian Rosewood and has wear marks where the player's clothing rubbed.
• The sides are Brazilian Rosewood.
• The tailpiece is original.
