Burny XB-95H- Warlock Bass- X Japan Heath Signature Bass

Built for speed this is the signature bass of Heath (X Japan). This bass is slightly smaller than a Warlock. The XB-95H is another killer instrument from Burny, who just can't stop making great instruments . This bass is from the early/mid 1990s , I’m unsure the exact year but these are rather rare and made in limited runs in the 1990s.

12" radius, 24 frets with a 1.625 nut width.

EMG P/J style active pickups bring the thunder.

There is some cosmetic wear and tear, but only cause this bass was played. Nothing that messes with the integrity of the instrument. Mainly the bottom horns are chipped up. Per usual with pointy instruments sitting it on a stand doesn’t work great , years of that has chipped the horns - photographed. Their are plenty of belt scratches on the rear of the body as well. The body has some scuffs on the front as does the back of the neck. Some small dings around the headstock. The frets are in rather good shape. The fretboard was just oiled. You’ll notice the truss rod cover is missing, it was removed and lost.

The stock pickups were removed, I no longer have them. Installed were EMG pickups. The P pickup is a EMG PCS, the jazz pickup is a EMG LJ. The pots are all EMG units. Stock this bass was set up with a master volume, master tone and 3 way switch. It’s been converted with separate volumes for each pickup and a master tone. So there is no longer a 3 way switch , another volume knob is in place of it. All 3 of the knobs do not match each other , one was lost and one added so they are all random knobs now, the gold one was original. All electronics sound well, the EMG upgrades were around $300. Their is a 9 volt battery under the rear cover and it’s a little tight so the cover bulges outwards some . Nice bridge is stamped Fernandes and the tuners are Gotoh units. Nice hardware , some gold platting color has been lost over the years.

The bass has comfortable action and plays well. It sounds really good with these EMG pickups.
