Hello,
Up for sale is a one owner 1979/very early 1980 Gibson Les Paul Standard Goldtop with original chainsaw case.
Out of the same large private collection as most of our other listings. This collection is made of original and pristine instruments only.
This guitar, which was bought in 1980 in France, comes with its original invoice and its original Gibson Final Inspection Notice with model, serial number and name of the retail shop on it. Stunning condition instrument, hardly any fret wear, minimal wear on the back of the neck.
This Goldtop is one of the very first examples of the reintroduction of the Standard Goldtop model. It is not a Deluxe Goldtop that has been converted to Standard. It is a proper factory Standard Goldtop.
100% original down to the last screw (body, neck, frets, color, finish, hardware, pickup, pots, wires, solder joints, plastic parts etc...) bare the strap locks. The tuners were once swapped but the original ones are back on the guitar.
Original Tim Shaw pickups are dated 31 May 1979 and November 20 1979. Pots are dated 27th and 28th week of 1979 (1377927 and 1377928) while the serial number is 800306xx (Nashville plant, 3rd of January 1980)
Absolutely no break or repairs. The guitar is set up: neck is straight, the truss rod functions well and the action is low. The guitar is set-up with 10-46.
It comes with its original Gibson chainsaw case red interior, 3 latches (one broken one).
