Rare “blueface” Mike Morin preamp, hotrod Marshall, Eddie, Angus tones. You’ll find a few videos online for reference. 1.5U rack size and includes a .5U vented panel to fill the gap.

Great shape, one ear has a very slight bend, some orange spray paint on the bottom. Note that the pull option on the bass push/pull pot does nothing and I don’t believe it ever did. Included below is correspondence with the previous owner

Since it is one of the earlier versions, Morin only did the two way bright switch, down being off and up being brighter. The bright switch will be more or less effective depending on what pickups your using. I don't think he ever ended up doing a Bass push pull even on the later versions. I read that in the later versions  he just added the 3 way bright and a second switchable master volume on the font. The first earlier preamps were done for individual artist and not available to the public of which yours is one. 

An FYI. the mid select on the back select, a mid frequency before it hits some of the final gain stages, so it not only lets you select mids but different gain characters too. You can see he was way ahead of his time with that preamp.       

I had this unit recently checked over to make sure all was absolutely working up to snuff. BRAND NEW NOS 80s BEIJING PREAMP TUBES... these are what this preamp was voiced for. Mike also is available for service or modification should any work ever need to be done (which is unlikely, considering the craftsmanship of this PTP preamp).

This preamp features push-pull pots on the gain, preamp volume (secondary gain) to greatly alter the sound. It can go from fat and smooth to tight and bright, and anywhere in between.

With both gain pots pulled, the preamp sounds like a stock vintage JCM 800 (but more refined). With the gain pot in and the preamp pot pulled, it sounds like a very tight but also incredible high gain modded Marshall. With both pots in, this preamp has more usable gain than anything on the market (Soldano SLO or high-gain Bogner tones).

This preamp also has a bright switch for adding extra bite and presence for rhythm, as well as a grind/frequency knob on the back which changes the amount of midrange distortion. The gain and pre-amp knobs function as interactive gain stages that allow you to dial in the exact gain and feel you need. When pulled, the pre-amp knob tightens the low-end and drops the distortion level. The gain knob increases clarity and lowers distortion when pulled. The treble and bass pots both shift their respective frequencies higher when pulled.

Preamp works perfectly and was fully serviced by Mike himself in July 2011. Loaded with three ARS branded Chinese 7025 tubes and a Sovtek 12AX7LP in the last position (as recommended). I will provide his contact information and sample tone setting sheets to the buyer.
