ITEM DETAILS:

This unit is problematic. When first powered up, it worked fine for a while (maybe around 10-15 mins or so) - meaning it did play via a midi sequencer and the sounds did come out the outputs as they should, but then the unit reset itself on its own. What this means is that you should not expect it to work reliably so it will need repair or, if repair is not feasible, should be used for parts. Our tech says it MAY just be a bad connection and estimates a *minimum* of 30 minutes for him to fix it, but says that sometimes it can require a lot more time since intermittent problems can take a while to figure out. As a low priced item, we can’t justify paying for what could end up being a time consuming process, so rather than investing in that first 30 mins and it possibly not fixing the problem, we’re selling it the way it is. The first steps he says he would take on any jv880 with this problem would be to check for a bad connection in the power supply or power line, not enough solder on the gate array surface mount IC, or bad connection on the various connectors, but there’s a chance it’s something else. If you’re good with electronics, this could be a fun project. If it doesn’t sell for our asking price, we may eventually let him fix it and sell it for more if things ever slow down enough over here. Sold strictly as is for repair or parts, no guarantees or returns. The card slots were not tested.
