Vintage 1969 Laney LC 1 x 12 combo with tremolo from the Super Group era.

This amp essentially does what the Super Group era Laney’s do and that is to make great guitar tones at all volumes and when cranked up, produce a signature Laney Super Group type of distortion which is also sort of an early Black Sabbath distortion. Tony Iommi ran his Super Group heads with the bass off and the treble cranked. I think this amp sounds best that way too.

The tremolo on this amp absolutely rocks. There is no foot switch that controls this. You simply turn up the depth knob when to you want the tremolo on and adjust the speed.

Made in England, the amp is fitted with the original cast frame FANE 12 inch, 20 watt speaker with original cone and it sounds excellent.

Also looks like the transformer is a Partridge but I can’t confirm. Whatever it is its original. The whole amp is original with the exception of 3 or 4 components on the solid state circuit. Please see the photos.

Original power transformer with 110V tap so it plugs right into the wall in the US. No need for a 220 step up/down transformer.

Recently serviced and given a clean bill of health by Stretch at Valley Sound in Los Angeles.

Very rare amp. I can say Ive never seen another one offered for sale.

Great shape cosmetically for 53 years of life. Sure, some nicks, signs of wear and tolex imperfections, but over all, very good condition in my opinion. Please make your own conclusion from the photos.

Gets to a pretty loud volume. At full tilt volume you have to yell for anyone to hear you speak ; )
