Previously owned guitar that was played quite a bit, but is still just a killer shred machine! It is missing a tremolo arm which can be replaced fairly easy, Im sure.
Some history: Steve Stevens was the lead guitarist for Billy Idol. If you’re not familiar with Billy Idol‘s music, you will likely recognize Steve Stevens playing on the top gun anthem. Steve wanted Washburn to build him a USA made guitar and they ran with a signature series for a short period of time. However, Steve became upset with the company when they outsourced manufacturing overseas for a more affordable model - which was not in the original agreement. He was not stoked about this move and shortly afterward retracted his deal with Washburn for a signature guitar, and left the company.
This is one of those guitars.
Very uncool of Washburn at the time, but still very cool for us in the sense that this guitar is identical to the SS40. (So it is essentially still a Steve Stevens model - with some interesting history🙂.) The difference is in the headstock painting and Washburn graphic. A quick Internet search with bring you up to speed on the differences.
That being said, this is just a killer shred machine with Steve’s signature pickup orientation and fun as heck to play. Get your 80’s on with this little monster
