Here we have a MINT 60HP Moog skiff which fits a Mother-32, D-Fam or any array of sliding nut modular modules. Not a single scratch or sign of ever being used and is literally mint condition.
I’ve been getting a few questions about what this is exactly so please let me clarify if you’re looking for a small skiff:
Moog sells these for $300. Essentially what it is is a Eurorack case for the Moog D-Fam or the mother 32 with its own Proprietary power supply and 1/4” audio output but as you can see from the last three screenshots I’ve just added, they are marketed to house ANY type of traditional standard Modular gear. As you may or may not know, the Moog modular products are also designed to be removed from these enclosures and mounted traditionally in a larger skiff chassis. Conversely, they are sold without this default chassis and can be mounted back in (although it’s rare to see them sold with the original power supply like this one). Upon purchasing a new Moog D-Fam or another-32 “bundle package,” you are able to remove the two wires that you see inside of this box from the module and use a regular 12 pin ribbon cable to buss board that is typically used in modular euro rack equipment. Rendering this case obsolete. However, a lot of people like to take these enclosures and use them as small skiffs (as seen in last picture) or they simply need to mount their Moog Mother32 or Dfam which they bought unmounted (which is also why Moog sells these separately).
NOTE * If you are going to be using this with other modular units you will probably want to buy a separate power supply and remove (and $ell!) the proprietary Moog power supply that is included. These racks are usually sold as an empty case as where this one has the original Moog PSU, switching power brick cable and Audio Output I can also remove it for you upon request and send wrapped separately if desired.
Just like the DIY culture that feeds modular noise making, the skiff can be modified to essentially do whatever you want. I’ve even seen people mount little midi keyboards in these and other creative DIY projects but essentially, the rails and sliding nuts are there to mount traditional Eurorack Modular units up to 60 HP in width, which is about a foot long of gear. Do with it whatever you can dream up, there is no one specific purpose of this listing.
Will trade for guitar pedals or whatever you got lying around. Price is firm otherwise. Thanks for looking- all the best
