From Archived Musician's Friend Page:

With Tap Tone, T-Rex wanted to create the world™s most musical delay, one that works more like a musical instrument than an effects box. How did they do it? By marrying tap-tempo control with legendary T-Rex tone. As its name suggests, Tap Tone gives you two great advantages over other delay pedals. First, you get tap control of your delay tempo so you can adjust your tempo to fit any song, just by tapping along. Then, you get legendary T-Rex tone that you can fine tune via the Tap Tone Bite control.

Consider the possibilities...

Tap tempo,or the ability to control the tempo of your delay by tapping a button with your foot while you play, is what separates the men from the boys in the world of delay pedals. It gives you ultimate control of your delay on stage by letting you match the speed of your delay effect to the tempo of every new song you play without ever missing a beat.

A Tap Tone delay on your pedal board will open up a whole new world of possibilities, where in-sync delay becomes part of the music you make on stage.

Wicked-sounding bite control
When you add a Tap Tone delay to your rig, you also get that gorgeous, tubey warmth that T-Rex pedals are famous for. Tap Tone delivers an amazing analog sound at any setting, but we also wanted to let you tune the tone of your delay. Tap Tone™s Bite control does just that “ it lets you put a nice dirty edge on your delayed repetitions to mimic the funky tape delays of the 60s and 70s.

Controls
Your Tap Tone has 4 delay controls, plus the TAP tempo button. The first three controls”Delay, Feedback, and Time”are standard delay pedal controls:

The Delay control lets you adjust how loud your delayed signal is compared to the original note or chord you play on your guitar.

The Feedback knob determines how many repetitions your pedal produces, or how long the delay effect continues.

The Time control lets you set the tempo of your delayed repetitions, from short slap-back to a long. spacey-sounding echo.

The Bite knob lets you tune the sonic character of your delayed signal to match the style of music you'e playing or your own tastes. Turn it up for a dirtier, analog-style delay sound.

Finally, the Tap button is an alternative Time control that lets you set the tempo of your delay by simply tapping along to the beat. It means you can say goodbye to having to reach down and manually adjust your pedal.

The Tap Tone Delay is a Premier Guitar Premier Gear Award winner!
