Vintage 1980's Shure 579SB dynamic omni-directional microphone USA Low Z w accessories 540 575SB

 You are looking at a unique, quality Shure microphone. This is the 579SB dynamic model microphones set at Low Z. These were affordable and very rugged mics with a tone that is comparable to the E.V 635A. Very much a mid range sound in nature. This mic comes with Shure model mic clip that fits the mic perfectly, a new foam exterior pop filters as well as the vintage mic case in which to store everything.

 Pic # 2 shows this very model in an old 1970's Shure catalog along with a few other omni-directional mics of that time.

 The 579SB mic was made for about 20 years that replaced the 575S model which was much cheaper in appearance and construction. The 575S was a plastic mic with a rugged dynamic element. Shure also made the 575SB The 575S was set at High Z while the 575SB was set at Low Z. The 579SB utilized the same element but the mic was of higher quality construction with a metal handle and a cleaner, more practical design.

 The signal strength on this 579SB is like new and absolutely no issues!

 The only design flaw on this model was that the inner foam pop filter under the front screen is not accessible as the front screen was glued to the plastic bezel. The old foam starts to deteriorate from decades of use and it's almost impossible to replace the foam underneath the front screen as it's glued securely in place. For this reason I'm including a new outer black foam pop filter that fits the mic like a glove.

 These outer pop filters do the same job but even better. You'll want to use them for maximum sound performance and they look great on the mics as well.

 The 579SB is a very lite weight, smaller dynamic microphone with great omni-directional qualities. Quite smaller than the standard hand held mic. It's only 6 1/2 inches long X 1 1/2 wide at the tip.

 The 589 series has a very modern and classy look when it was designed. It comes with it's stock silver finish and grey / brown plastic tip. Not sure of the actual color but that's the best I can describe it. As you can see in the pictures provided there are no signs of wear on the handle of the mic. The Shure logo that encircles the mic shows just lite wear and completely legible. The plastic bezel has very lite wear. No tarnish or dents on the front grill.

  The mic comes with the on / off switches that works as it should. No issues. I would rate the cosmetic condition of one a true 9 on a scale of 1 - 10. Please let the pics be your guide. This mics takes a standard XLR cable which is not included but these are very easy to buy and get a hold of.

 The mic comes with Shure Brother A57E model mic clips that grip these mics firmly and in excellent condition. The clip provides a wide degree of tilt up and down and will screw onto any desk or floor stand.

 The original Shure case / box is in good physical condition with typical wear and a great place to store the items. It still has the inner foam pads to keep everything safe and snug. There's more than enough room inside for any cable you wish to use.

 If you need an excellent mic for general broadcasting then you'll really appreciate the 579SB to get the job done.
