From the Carmine Appice Collection at Donn Bennett’s Drum Vault in Seattle, WA. 

It’s impossible to adequately describe Carmine’s massive impact on the drum world. He redefined rock drumming with his innovative playing with Vanilla Fudge, Cactus, Beck Bogart and Appice, Rod Stewart, Ozzy Osborne, Edgar Winter, Ted Nugent and more. He literally “wrote the book” on rock drumming with his “Realistic Rock” drum method, the best selling rock drum book of all time. He introduced the rock drum world to China cymbals and gongs that are now commonplace on the modern drum set. Carmine is without a doubt, one of the most influential and innovative drummers of our time.

We've just acquired a huge collection of drum gear directly from Carmine Appice. This is just one piece of the collection currently available here at Donn Bennett’s Drum Vault.

Rare WFL Timpani Floor Tom from the Carmine Appice Drum and Cymbals Collection. Carmine Appice used this drum during his Beck, Bogart and Appice days in the very early 1970s. The pedal allowed him to raise or lower the tension on the head creating a pith-bend effect. Carmine recovered the drum in black wrap.  It has been fully, refurbished and modified. You can see it in action in the very early Don Kirshner's Rock Concert video below. It's pretty rough video but you'll see the drum to Carmine's left in the video.
