A rare model from the earliest of Greco production.  It sports a belly cut, all gold appointed hardware, patriotic stars on the tuners, a three-piece maple neck, and a dark rosewood fretboard.  The Maxon U2000 Humbuckers are legendary in their own right.  Pair them up with some full size, high quality Japanese electronics and you've got a recipe for success.  8.7 lb. . We are calling this the EG550 since all the specs are the same except the large headstock and "The Greco" name. This could be one of the earliest Larger "Norlin Style" headstock models that weren't prevalent until 1976, but by 76 they had serial numbers.

Greco Factory's Parent company became associated with Fender Japan in the 1973. Many folks don't realize that their favorite expensive boutique guitar may have been made in the same factory as this guitar. Like Zemaitis,
