For sale: one used ‘40s Gibson ES150 electric hollow body guitar. No issues, truss rod tested, neck is straight, intonation pretty good given the type of bridge, strung with 13-53-gauge D’Addario strings. No dead nor buzzy frets, minor fret wear if any on most frets — a little bit of wear on the first two, action very comfortable. Thumb wheels removed (but included) from bridge for better action (rather than sanding bridge). The electronics appear to be original and function perfectly; they were cleaned when the guitar was restrung. 1-23/32” nut width; 59/64” thick at first fret and 1-1/64” thick at eleventh fret. Pickguard is MIA and not included. The FON indicates 1949 as do the lack of both fingerboard binding and trapezoid inlays which, according to Gruhn’s Guide, were introduced in 1950. However, Gibson was still somewhat a custom shop at that point for all models and this could be a model from right before 1956 when the line was discontinued as the tuners appear to be original Kluson single-line tuners but they were not introduced until mid-‘50s. Perhaps they were replaced early in the guitar’s life when the open-back tuning keys stopped working or deemed unfashionable. The guitar shows nicks, scuffs, crazing, dings, scratches, etc but nothing major. No signs of breaks nor repairs. Does have a slightly mildewy/funky smell inside, outside of the guitar not so much. Weighs about 6 pounds. Non-original TKL/Takamine case included which fits the guitar perfectly.

Shipping will be via USPS, UPS, or FedEx at my discretion. Due to climate changes experienced during shipping I cannot guarantee the setup of the guitar to your door.
