Martin 00-45 1927 Brazilian Rosewood

This is how you love to find one of these! Virtually unplayed! It shows only the slightest wear, as it was sitting under a bed for 50+ years (with detuned nylon strings!), it was bought by a lady who did not learn to play. It had a fair bridge reglue long ago, with bolts, which missed anything critical. Nothing even visible on the top!! One slight, not moving, open or separated, crack in the back near the treble waist. There is also some checking on the back. So we strung her up with 12 gauge bronze strings, and the consensus was that since the bridge needs re-glueing anyway, either re-inforce the top slightly, or reset the neck... either one (especially the re-set would probably be enough), but figure on both for safety's sake. It sounded fantastic, and we were surprised at how loud and full it sounded when up to pitch with 12's. So here we have a 2 owner guitar, that needs some work, which will be invisible, and then it's a super clean, stellar, top of the line 00-45! With the original Hardshell case! It's consigned, and we have tried to set the price low, so that with a maximum of $1500 worth of work, and a little time, you'd probably have the world's best 00-45 from the 1920's! I've been asked if the guitar has any overspray, and have included more photos. I cannot tell. The experts I have asked have all said the same thing. It was common for Martin to "spruce up" pearl top guitars. There is no lacquer in the neck joint, only seems thick around the back of headstock logo, and possibly behind the nut.I have included additional photos, so please satisfy your own curiosity. whatever was done to the guitar , was done over 60 years ago, and to me looks authentic.
